GSBARC participates in many different types of events during the year. Some we sponsor, and others we assist with. These events are handled by volunteers who usually work with their own or the club’s equipment. Participating in these events also helps increase public knowledge of Amateur Radio. During some of these events, GSBARC provides communications to support local Law Enforcement and EMS when called upon.

• 05/16/2026 | American Airpower Museum – Honoring all Veterans – May 16, 1300Z-2000Z Operating from inside the historic World War Two hangar where Rosie the Riveter became famous. This special event honors all who have served and done their part to defend our country and democracy—two stations using all modes. • 06/27/2026 | Field Day – Jun 27-Jun 28, 1800Z-1800Z Open to the public. We will operate three stations on battery power in all modes. Location: 200 East Sunrise hwy. N. Lindenhurst, NY. We welcome everyone to stop by and explore amateur radio.
  
  
• 08/15/2026 | Fire Island Lighthouse – Aug 16, 1000Z-2030Z International Lighthouse Lightship Weekend. We will be operating two stations using all modes. The lighthouse number is US0019. It is also IOTA NA-026 and POTA park US-0679. Contact us on the air for this special-event station to get your certificate.
  
  
• 09/05/2026 | POTA Activation Heckscher State Park. 
  Set up 10:30 AM. When getting to the park, use the club simplex channel. We plan on operating till about 4:00 PM All modes Trailer will be there, let’s have a ton of fun.
  
  
• 11/07/2026 | Join us at our Third annual very special Parks on the Air event to honor W2TE. On November 8th at Captree State Park Overlook, starting at 09:00 local time till 4:00 PM. Calling all operators CW, SSB, digital, more info

Babylon Village St Patrick’s Day Parade

Suffolk County Marathon
